Nigeria's Hausa satellite channel AREWA24 has entered a multi-year capacity agreement with Eutelsat.

The free-to-air channel has retained its play-out and other channel services with teleport partner, Jordan Media City, based in Amman.
"We are extremely proud to bring the finest broadcasting resources to our television channel and to enrich the lives of our viewers by showcasing the beauty, promise and potential of Northern Nigeria to Hausa speakers across Nigeria and West and Central Africa," said Jacob Arback, president, AREWA24.
"The choice of the Eutelsat 16A satellite demonstrates our on-going commitment to raising the bar for our viewers and partnering with a satellite provider that has long demonstrated its commitment to Africa."
The channel, which launched in 2014, claims to be the largest producer of original quality TV programmes in the Hausa language. AREWA24's content includes music, entertainment, lifestyle, business, employment, arts, sports, chat shows, children's programmes, Kannywood films and original dramas.
AREWA24 also has a digital presence on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
