Six weeks ahead of its doors opening, German cable, satellite and broadband trade fair ANGA COM reports strong growth: 440 exhibitors from 35 countries have registered with the total rented booth space already exceeding last year’s level.

“The booking situation considerably exceeds our expectations,” said ANGA COM’s managing director Dr. Peter Charissé. “We have been able to more than compensate the market-driven decline among set-top-box providers by new participants from the areas of network technology and software solutions.”

“We have also further expanded our industry collaborations,” said Charissé. “With eco – Verband der deutschen Internetwirtschaft which represents around 800 companies from the internet economy, the 14th industry association has joined us.”

The congress accompanying the fair targets both the broadband and the media industry under the title “Where Broadband meets Content”. It comprises 24 panels with more than 130 speakers and moderators and takes place in collaboration with media conference Medienforum NRW and 14 leading broadband and media industry associations.

The key topics of the congress are TV everywhere, video-on-demand, multiscreen, cloud TV, all over IP, broadband upgrades, FTTH, DOCSIS 3.1, Ultra HD, DVB-T2, connected home, RDK, Wi-Fi, CCAP, net neutrality, media policy, digitalisation and competition law.

The keynotes will be held by Hannelore Kraft, prime minister of federal state North-Rhine Westphalia, and Thomas Braun, president of cable industry association ANGA.

Participants in the opening discussion round will be Dr. Manuel Cubero (Vodafone/Kabel Deutschland), Michael T. Fries (Liberty Global), Wolfgang Elsäßer (Astra Deutschland) and Lutz Schüler (Unitymedia). The media companies will be represented by Conrad Albert (ProSiebenSat.1), Dr. Thomas Bellut (ZDF), Kasia Kieli (Discovery Networks) and Marc Schröder (Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland).

The highlight of the international conference programme consisting of 10 English-language panels will be the International Broadband Summit. Participants will be Michel Azibert (Eutelsat), Colin Buechner (Liberty Global), Wilhelm Dresselhaus (Alcatel-Lucent Deutschland), Bruce McClelland (Arris group), Yves Padrines (Cisco) and Dr. Dirk Wössner (Rogers Communications).

The ANGA COM fair and congress will take place June 9-11, 2015 in Cologne. Visitors can now register on the website.

The Broadband TV News team will be at the show and report about all news and developments.
