Aiming to address network operators' challenges, ABOX42 has unveiled new technology that it claims can help operators migrate 'hassle-free' from legacy STB platforms for the first screen and beyond.
The latest generation M40 Smart STB platform is based on the chipset technology from Broadcom, which is supporting up to 4K/Ultra HD video resolution. The M40 supports IPTV, OTT and hybrid services as well as HEVC/H.265 for what the company says is more efficient streaming of video content.
The device will be on display at the TV CONNECT 2015 along with the latest version of the company's OPX TV application and backend solution, now available for IPTV, OTT and hybrid DVB projects. OPX TV offers full HbbTV support, IP based or DVB based EPG and capability to run IPTV, OTT and traditional DVB channels in a unified channel list.
