Iqraa Satellite Channels Company has agreed an extension with Barwin TV Media to globally distribute and market its Muslim lifestyle channel Iqraa International.

The rise of infotainment television worldwide has fuelled demand for the Middle East originated channel, said M. Sallam, general manager of the Jordan Media City-based broadcaster.

"Iqraa is the first home grown channel positioning itself to become a global hub for promoting lifestyle content in Arabic, English and French, and [watching it] is fast becoming a way of life for people globally," said M Sallam, general manager, Iqraa Satellite Channels Company.

Wagih Zorba, business development manager, added that in Barwin TV Media, Iqraa Satellite Channels Company has "found a wonderful and enthusiastic partner who not only shares our vision but is also willing to go ahead an extra mile towards connecting the world community to explore, experience and educate itself through this partnership."

CEO Chetan Maniar said that through the deal Barwin TV Media would be delighted to represent Iqraa's quality edutainment in "every nook and corner of the world", as part of a range of direct-to-home (DTH), mobile, broadband, IPTV, video-on-demand (VOD), MMDS, MVDS, and airline services around the world.
