Spain's Grupo Secuoya has announced strong figures for 2014, mostly driven by its increasing activity in Latin America, with earnings rocketing by 22% to near €10 million before interest, taxes and depreciation (EBITDA).

Business activities grew 8.17% for the company, from €45.46 million in 2013 to €49.1 million in 2014, which has pushed its EBITDA up to €9.8 million.

Although Secuoya's diversification through marketing and communication services is looking strong, content production and broadcasting services are still the greatest income generators for the group, especially on the international scene.

Throughout Latin America - where Secuoya was very active in the second half of 2014, launching business units in Peru, Chile and Colombia - the group will continue expanding in 2015.

Among the moves expected for this year, Secuoya is said to be about to close a deal with Banijay Studios in Peru and consolidate the operations of Colombia-based video-on-demand (VOD) platform Procobade.

But the group's activities in Spain have also seen growth, with Secuoya being awarded several content contracts for regional public TV signals across Spain and even considering entering the country's DTT market.

In addition, through 2015 the company is becoming a strong player in content production thanks to programmes such as Vive Cantando, Españoles por el Mundo, Victor Ros, and the new fictional series for Antena 3, Apaches
