Taiwanese multi-system operator China Network Systems (CNS) expects to complete its digitisation programme by the end of 2015 and is now investing in over-the-top (OTT) video content.

The company says that with cumulative investment of NT$20 billion to NT$30 billion (US$653 million to $979 million) it has so far digitised 80% of its cable TV networks.

CNS currently boasts 1.28 million cable TV subscribers, of which some 20% also receive broadband Internet services from the company.

CNS says its business focus this year will be on an OTT video service, for which it has been acquiring content based on licensing, shared revenue or other similar models.

Its major shareholder, MBK Partners Limited, has reportedly stalled in its second attempt to sell its US$2.4 billion stake in the multi-system operator.
