Reality shows such as The Voice, The Voice Kids, Survivors, Big Brother and Next Top Model are currently boosting social TV activity and engagement on Applicaster's cross-platform TV solutions, which enable operators to offer live streaming and synchronised second-screen activities.
"Hit formats constantly seek new ways to encourage and successfully accommodate audience participation in high volumes," said Peter Cassidy, VP of Europe at Applicaster. "Building on the scalability of our SaaS platform, and technological integrations with TV services, we implemented a variety of tools to drive interactivity and audience loyalty to these shows."
Both in Europe and LATAM, Applicaster has powered connected experiences for Next Top Model, taking content to mobile devices and offering sponsorship opportunities.
The Voice and The Voice Kids have been transformed into interactive formats across LATAM, Europe and Asia, where the audience at home shares the insights of the judges as well as the experiences of the contestants.
"Innovative players in the TV industry realise that there is more than one way to connect the dots between TV content and the audience," said Laura Tapias, VP of Spain and LATAM at Applicaster.
"Using our technology, audiences are involved right from the start, at the audition phase, cheering for contestants and making predictions about the competition's results. As the show progresses, they get to vote, voice their opinion and socialise with the characters and with their friends – all from within a single place – the TV app".
