Eurosport launches Apple Watch app

Just in in time for the French Open tennis tournament, European sports broadcaster Eurosport has unveiled an Apple Watch app dedicated to events at Roland Garros.

In 2014 Eurosport delivered record ratings for the 2014 French Open, capturing its highest average live audience in 25 years of broadcasting the event. Maria Sharapova's victory over Simona Halep became the most-watched women's tennis match in Eurosport history with an average live audience of 3.8 million European viewers, while Eurosport attracted 60.7 million European viewers throughout the tournament. The live average audience for the UK rose by 79% in 2014 compared with the previous year.

The Apple Watch app will provide users with access to live scores, updates and player data and will be available throughout the upcoming French Open in Paris from 24 May to 7 June. Other features of the app include nine-language support; tailored notifications for a bespoke, personalised experience; push notifications, based on player preference or set to specific matches users want to follow, ensuring they are instantly updated.
