TNT Latin America has inked a deal with Entidad de Gestión de Derechos de los Productores Audiovisuales (EGEDA), the association for audiovisual producers of Spain, Portugal and LATAM, to cover the second edition of the Premios Platino cinema awards for the Ibero-American community.

"TNT is one of the audience leaders in Latin America because it offers the audience the best live events of the entertainment industry, from the Oscars to the Golden Globes and Grammys," said Mariano Cesar, VP and manager at TNT. "Premios Platino now arrives to complement this offer, and we are sure our audience is going to enjoy such an event."

"The awards have made a difference in Latin America's film scene," added Miguel Angel Benzal, general manager at EGEDA. "This second edition, to be held in Marbella on 18 July 8, is to be broadcast in nearly 50 different countries. And we are very happy to have TNT broadcast and promote the awards in Latin America, as it holds a leading position in the region."

Premios Platino aims to award the best movie productions from Latin America and the Iberian peninsula through nine main categories, four technical awards and one honour award.

The event is to be broadcast live by Turner's TNT through its pay-TV network and will also be available on streaming through TNT Go in Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela.
