Spanish broadcast solutions provider Egatel is to present its wideband high efficiency TV transmitters and its new product line for satellite transceivers at Broadcast Asia 2015, to be held in Singapore between 2-5 June.

egateltransmAt the Spanish Pavilion, the Smart LNB will be showcased, a terminal conceived by the satellite operator Eutelsat and implemented by Egatel to facilitate the next generation of bi-directional connected TV platform services and M2M applications.

The Smart LNB is equipped with a novel transceiver, allowing the terminal to open the door to a wide range of satellite TV connected services such as HbbTV, social networking, payment transactions, subscription-based management and on-demand services.

In addition to the transceiver, it will be possible to see Egatel's WHET Series wideband high efficiency TV transmitter in operation with a dummy load, which provides an energy efficiency of up to 42% over the whole UHF band, for both liquid and air cooling transmitters.

The optimisation of energy efficiency in the transmitters is achieved through Doherty technology which with the addition of the wideband function, allows the RF channel to be changed without requiring any kind of adjustment in the amplifiers.
