As it aims to generate content for over-the-top (OTT) viewers, Singapore-based media company MediaCorp has implemented the Magna Systems Actus Digital monitoring solution.

MediaCorp will use the Actus broadcast monitoring solution to record broadcasts from the forthcoming the SEA games, creating clips for its OTT offering in one platform. This encompasses ingest of live feeds with SEA content, through automatic or semi-automatic clips marking, and up to delivery of multiple profiles of clips in various bit-rates, resolutions, into various OTT devices, all done in parallel.

"MediaCorp is pulling out all the stops to provide comprehensive coverage of the 28th SEA Games," explained MediaCorp chief technology officer Joe Igoe. "We needed a solution that would support our coverage on Toggle, our over-the-top Internet video service, for viewers anytime, anywhere and on any device. Magna Systems and [systems integrator] Engineering Singapore presented us with Actus, a reliable, easy-to-integrate and cost effective solution. We were also impressed by the team's ability to turn around specific developments to customise the solution in record time, ahead of the games."
