Mediapro co-production drives international sales success

A Perfect Day, the latest film from Fernando León de Aranoa, produced by Mediapro and Reposado, has become an international hit for the Spanish production house.
Distributed by WestEnd Films the film has been extensively sold and quickly attained international distribution since its premiere on 16 May at Cannes International Film Festival.
In addition to the USA, where the film is set to be distributed by IFC, A Perfect Day will go on general release in Australia (Madman), Scandinavia (Smile), Japan (Respect), Italy (Teodora), Turkey (Mars), Hong Kong (Edko) and Bulgaria (A Plus). Other deals include France (TF1 DA), Germany (X Verleih), Benelux (September Films), Switzerland (Praesens), Israel (United King), the Middle East (ECS), Greece (Spentzos), the countries of former Yugoslavia (VTI), Malaysia (Suraya) and South Africa (M-Net).
The Mediapro film's production has been supported by TVE, TV3, Canal+, Telecable and Orange. Universal Pictures International Spain is slated to distribute the film in Spain, set for release on 28 August.
A Perfect Day stars Oscar-winners Benicio del Toro and Tim Robbins, as well as Olga Kurylenko, Mélanie Thierry, Fedja Stukan and child actor Eldar Residovic.
The film is about a group of aid workers which try to resolve a crisis in an armed conflict zone, mixing humour, drama, emotion, routine, danger and hope.
