DirecTV will live stream every match in the Latin American football championship Copa América, kicking off on Thursday (11 June) in Chile, to mobile devices across the region.
Aiming to strengthen its position in the Latin American TV everywhere market, DirecTV Sports will air full coverage of one of the most followed events in the region through the DirecTV Sports app.
The mobile platform, which delivered successful figures during last summer's Brazilian World Cup, will enable fans in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela to watch every game live while interacting with the social TV community. It will also deliver life statistics and extra videos and images.
The event will also be broadcast through DirecTV Play and directvsports.net for computers.
On both mobile and Web platforms, alternative audio and shot replays will be available.
"DirecTV wants to be present in Latin America's most important sports event of the year ... making the difference with our content and technology", said Guillermo Barreto, sports programming director of DirecTV PanAmericana and DirecTV Sports.
The app can be downloaded from Google Play and APP Store.
