Based on Nunchee Sport, SmartboxTV's solution for sports content streaming and TV everywhere platforms, Chile's national public network, TVN, has launched a mobile streaming service just in time for the Copa América, which kicks off this week in the country.
tvdeportesThe platform will bring content to smartphones and tablets directly from the network's website, including breaking news and analysis, live streaming of matches, highlights, statistics and fixtures. The platform also enables the network to manage user preferences, advertising and real time notifications.
"TVN Deportes will also deploy a voting system to choose the games' best player, thanks to the features of Nunchee sports which enables the channel to learn the viewers' opinion," added Juan Pablo Buscaglione, commercial director at SmartboxTV.
Once the Copa América is over, the platform will still be actively streaming all TVN Deportes content.
The app is free and is available for Android (from Google Play) and iOS (App Store) devices.
Nunchee's solution has been well received over the past year in Latin America, having been used by Chile's Movistar for sports content and Venezuela's over-the-top (OTT) platform VivoPlay.
