Euronews will be available to Colombians after the French news channel finalised an agreement with Claro to air the network 24/7 on the TV Digital Avanzada package, in both Spanish and English.

The deal follows recent agreements with Claro Nicaragua and Claro Peru.

"Since 2013, Euronews has been available part-time in Colombia. It is strategic to broadcast the Spanish service 24/7 to increase Euronews' visibility in the country," said Arnaud Verlhac, worldwide distribution director of Euronews. "Thanks to our agreement, Claro will bring Euronews' view on world news to their subscribers. This is a new and important step for our development in Latin America."

"This new contract is clearly an opportunity to increase our visibility," added Celine Rodrigues, the network's regional distribution manager for Latin America. "In addition, this agreement will strengthen our partnership with Claro in Latin America. We are proud to offer Euronews' view on international affairs in Colombia".

With this deal with Colombia's largest pay-TV operator, with eight million subscribers, Euronews now covers more than 29 million households in Latin America.
