Danish communications solutions and pay-TV provider TDC has expanded delivery of its high-end IP-based TV services outside of its home country to NextGenTel customers in Norway.
To enable the move, the company has engaged Alcatel-Lucent to provide expertise in IP video technology, extending TDC's existing Mediaroom platform to make new services available to quickly.
Alcatel-Lucent is the sole supplier of IPTV services for TDC, working for almost a decade using its systems integration expertise as well as Mediaroom. It regards the new deal as enabling TDC to innovate with new revenue-generating services that unleash the value within its network.
Explaining why his company made the strategic move, Jacob Zentio Larsen, TDC vice president of TV, said: "Video is the in-demand service for consumers and they do not want to compromise on quality. We are pleased to continue our long working relationship with Alcatel-Lucent to help us quickly expand our high quality video service offer to customers in other markets to satisfy growing demand."
