The one million-plus subscribers to Chile's pay-TV platform VTR can now receive the HD signal of TVN, just in time for the airing of the Copa America on the public network, as well as being able to view TVN's most watched content through VTR's On Demand platform.
The HD channel will be available for a larger audience from today (11 June), representing a milestone in the development of Chile's non-linear TV, according to VTR's general manager, Guillermo Ponce.
"From now on, VTR's clients will get to see the best productions of TVN HD anytime they want, a consumption trend which is growing quickly worldwide," said Ponce.
VTR, which started its On Demand service in 2007 - one of the first in Latin America - delivers video-on-demand (VOD) content from its schedule with no extra cost through channel 900.
"We are very happy about TVN content and TVN's HD signal being freely delivered to the audience through VTR's various platforms," said Carmen Gloria Lopez, executive director at TVN. "This public channel offers diverse and high quality programming which is now to be available on-demand with a great content library."
