US prepaid mobile operator Boost Mobile is rolling out a Boost-branded video service, dubbed boostTV. Programming includes a wide offering of live sports and a Hispanic programming line-up.

"Over the past few years there has been a growth of TV consumption through computers, tablets and smartphones especially sports making this the perfect opportunity to launch a product like boostTV," said Dow Draper, president of Boost Mobile and Sprint Prepaid. "We look forward to [bringing] instant access to live and on-demand content, particularly around can't-miss, large-scale sporting events."

Boost is using MobiTV's multiscreen service platform, which supports seamless billing integration with US Tier 1 wireless operators, to enable a prepaid billing model. As part of the deal, MobiTV will offer content delivery including live and on-demand video subscription packages.

"Being selected by one of America's top prepaid carriers showcases the strength of our technology platform, as well as the continued demand for a flexible and reliable platform capable of delivering TV content anytime and in any place," said Charlie Nooney, CEO and chairman of MobiTV.

"As the mobile video market expands to new audiences, the Boost Mobile deal provides an opportunity to increase revenue streams while offering customers simple service add-ons and enhanced plans."
