Mediaset's Spanish division has inked a deal with Disney to broadcast through free-to-air (FTA) more than 20 films, including the Stars Wars complete series, Inside Out and Maleficent.

In addition, Mediaset has purchased TV rights for the Marvel Studios series The Avengers, Captain America and Guardians of the Galaxy; and animated movies Big Hero 6 and Planes: Fire and Rescue.

Although Mediaset has not yet specified which channels will air the Disney productions, it will probably premiere them through its main FTA networks TeleCinco and Cuatro.

The acquired portfolio also includes Tomorrowland, remakes of Disney's classics like Cinderella, comedies such as Into The Woods and Muppets Most Wanted, plus McFarland and Million Dollar Arm.

In addition to movies, the deal includes the new seasons of TV series Castle and Criminal Minds, and the new productions Secrets and Lies and Zero Hour.
