Pasiones, a pan-regional TV network dedicated to soap operas, has inked a deal with Cisneros Media Distribution (CMD) for the Latin American pay-TV rights of seven highly successful telenovelas.
The deal, which has already brought Mi Vida Eres Tú to Pasiones across the region, also includes Eva Luna, El Talismán and Amor Comprado, among others.
Serving Latin Americans and US Hispanics, Mi Vida Eres Tú has become one of the latest successes for Cisneros, beating almost every programme in its time slot.
"We are excited to begin our partnership with Cisneros Media Distribution and tap into their highly acclaimed international novellas," said Francisco Gimenez, general manager of cable networks at Hemisphere Media Group, Pasiones' parent company. "This deal reinforces our commitment to deliver the best programming to our audiences."
Later this year, Pasiones will announce dates for the premiere of the remaining telenovelas acquired in the deal with CMD.
"We are thrilled to sign this agreement with Pasiones as it will foster and fortify our reach and the success of our trademark telenovelas throughout Latin America," said Marcello Coltro, executive VP of content distribution, Cisneros Media. "We know viewers will enjoy our featured programming, which contains iconic stories written by our renowned cast of authors like Veronica Suarez and Leandro Padron."
