Sony is expanding its PlayStation Vue streaming video service to two additional markets in the US - San Francisco and Los Angeles.
This brings the limited-service offering to five markets in total, counting the launch markets of Chicago, New York and Philadelphia.
The service, which starts at $49.99 per month, will also now have slightly more unbundling: new national à la carte choices will include the new Showtime standalone offering, Machinima and Fox Soccer Plus.
The service includes 85 channels and a number of local network partners. Feeds include CBS, the Discovery portfolio, FOX, NBCUniversal, AMC Networks, Scripps Networks Interactive, Viacom and Turner Broadcasting.
"The TV experience needs a revolution and PlayStation Vue changes the rules by embracing how today's viewers want to discover and enjoy content," said Andrew House, president and global CEO of Sony Computer. "PlayStation Vue modernises the TV viewing experience, taking the best of live TV and on-demand content and bringing it to the PlayStation ecosystem in a way that gives control back to viewers and enables them to spend more time watching their favourite programmes and less time channel surfing using outdated menus."
