UPC Polska has announced that it has rectified a major technical problem with its Horizon platform.

By way of compensation for Horizon subscribers, it is now making the Cinemax movie package available to them free of charge for three months.

According to Wirtualne Media, the problem related to receivers, with the most common one being the appearances of fault messages or ones about recording whilst viewers are watching TV.

In some instances, viewers were unable to watch TV, record programmes or access VOD.

UPC Polska said it was working intensively to restore the full functionality of Horizon decoders, adding that internet and telephony services remain unaffected by the fault.

UPC Polska was the first Liberty Global operation in Central and Eastern Europe to fully launch Horizon.

The receiver made its full commercial debut at the start of this year.
