The catch-up TV service of Austrian public broadcaster ORF is now also accessible on the smart TV portals operated by German connected TV service provider NetRange.

With the move, the ORF-TVthek app based on HbbTV becomes available, for example, on TV sets from Loewe, Sharp, Vestel and Changhong as well as on the N2 box.

ORF’s free-of-charge catch-up TV service enables viewers to watch TV programmes they missed up to seven days after their initial broadcast in full length.

orf-tvthek“The collaboration with NetRange grants many smart TV users simple and direct access to the whole offering of ORF-TVthek,” Michael Götzhaber, ORF’s director for technology, online services and new media, said in Vienna. “This marks another important step as part of our multimedia strategy to offer TV content as a service for our audience on all relevant platforms and reception devices.”

The ORF-TVthek is also available via PC, laptop, smartphone, tablet, on cable networks and on IPTV platforms such as UPC Austria, A1 TV, Liwest and Salzburg AG, on connected TV sets from Samsung and LG, via Apple TV and on the Xbox One.
