HBO Latin America Group is adding NBCUniversal International Networks, including Universal Channel, Syfy and Studio Universal, to its line-up in Latin America.
The channel will be available across the entire Latin American territory, excluding Brazil.
The three channels will join the extensive list of basic channels HBO currently represents in the region, which already includes other NBCU brands such as Telemundo Internacional and E! Entertainment Television, and a joint-venture between HBO, Ole Communications and NBCUI.
"Having the rights to distribute this group of channels from NBCUniversal in Spanish Latin America not only implies expanding our catalogue, but also that we represent the most robust channel line-up in the region," said Emilio Rubio, CEO of HBO Latin America Group.
HBO LAG is responsible for managing affiliate sales and affiliate marketing strategies for the channels with cable and satellite operators, including distribution of the networks in standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD), and their associated TV everywhere and video-on-demand (VOD) digital platforms.
"We are looking forward to having HBO LAG as our single distribution partner in Spanish Latin America. This represents a key strategic alignment for our all the NBCUniversal International channel brands in the region," said Ken Bettsteller, managing director at NBCUniversal International Television, Latin America.
