Sony Kix to air FA Cup, Serie A after MSM deal

Sony TV's operator in India, Multi Screen Media (MSM), has acquired regional broadcasting rights to the UK's FA Cup and Italy's Serie A for three years until the end of the 2017-18 season.
MSM's football dedicated football channel Sony Kix will air over 300 hours of live football from the FA Cup and Serie A as a result of the deal with MP & Silva.
The network's broadcast rivals Star Sports previously held the rights in India to both of the prestigious European football competitions.
The deal bolster's MSM's growing football portfolio; it already holds broadcasting rights across the Indian subcontinent to the finals of UEFA Euro 2016 and the tournament's qualifiers, the European qualifiers for the FIFA 2018 World Cup, the FIFA 2018 World Cup and Copa America.
Sony Kix will also broadcast the FA Community Shield between FA Cup champions Arsenal and Premier League winners Chelsea – the traditional curtain raiser to the English football season – on 2 August.
The channel's coverage of the Italian top tier league begins when it kicks off on the weekend of 22 August.
