AMC Networks, home of the monster hit The Walking Dead, is working on an over-the-top (OTT) offering for horror fans, appropriately dubbed Shudder.
The service is in beta testing, with a slate of programming that includes 200 films, like Korean hit A Tale of Two Sisters, vampire classic Nosferatu and the Swedish vampire cult film Let the Right One In.
When it officially launches (AMC hasn't said when this will be), it will be available for iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as Roku, for $4.99 per month. For now, beta testers have been invited to try it for free for two months.
The launch is the latest in a string of channel-specific subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) launches; A+E Networks announced its Lifetime Movie Club over-the-top (OTT) service last week, joining Nickelodeon's $5.99 SVOD stand-alone service, Noggin, CBS, and HBO and Showtime's premium offerings.
