Rovi seals discovery patent licence agreement with SK Broadband

SK Broadband, one of the main IPTV providers in Korea delivering TV everywhere (TVE) and video-on-demand (VOD), is to partner with Rovi on new entertainment discovery patent portfolio licences.

The ISP provides mobile TV services to the subscribers of SK Telecom, the largest wireless telecommunications company in Korea, and the licence agreement will set out to provide SK Broadband with access to a range of Rovi's entertainment discovery and programme guidance intellectual property to help consumers navigate content across multiple screens and devices ISP.

"We are very pleased that our discovery patent portfolio is quickly gaining momentum and becoming the preferred choice in Korea's mobile TV industry," commented Rovi's executive vice president, intellectual property and licensing Samir Armaly.
