Subscribers to ICFLIX are now watching over 60,000 hours of premium content each month signalling a surge in over-the-top (OTT) video consumption, the Dubai-based subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service says.
"There's an apparent trend towards increased viewing online, particularly amongst young people as they want uninterrupted viewing and want to watch what they want and when they want," said Carlos Tibi, founder and CEO, ICFLIX.
"They are also more inclined to leveraging their devices as their personal viewing instruments. As a result we have seen a big jump on access from mobile devices."
Tibi said that the SVOD company's content acquisition deals and production of original content have boosted its popularity.
ICFLIX' Hollywood content is licensed for viewing in MENA, but its Arabic (or Jazwood, as the company has termed it) and Bollywood content is available to stream worldwide.
