Dance music talent format The Remix is to be localised for the Chinese TV audience following a deal between producer and rights content distributor IPCN and Global Agency.

The Remix is a live weekly show where DJs and vocalists pair up to compete to win an album deal with a major recording label, in addition to a cash sum.

The reality show has been successful in Vietnam, where it will soon return to VTV3 for a second series.

"Electronic dance music (EDM) is experiencing phenomenal growth in many areas of China. We think The Remix will cater for that demand. We're confident that our production capabilities coupled with our experience of remaking music talent formats in China will help make this format a success in China," said Rebecca Yang, CEO, IPCN.

IPCN has previously arranged TV rights deals for China's Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance for Dragon TV, The Voice of China for Zhejiang TV, and Sing Off for Shenzhen Satellite TV.
