Globo launches mobile VOD app for kids content

Grupo Globo's Globosat is to launch a video-on-demand (VOD) platform for mobile devices with content of its Gloob network, targeting a young audience with kids content.

The service will first be introduced to iOS smartphones and tablets, and later launched for Android. And according to Brazilian site TelaViva all the subscribers of the pay-TV network will be able to connect up to three users/devices under the same account, free of charge.

Grupo Globo will release and add new series and episodes every month, except for Gaby Estrella, one of the channel's most followed shows, whose episodes will be available on-demand 24 hours after airing on TV. Its first and second season, together with Buuu's first season, will be available from the beginning.

The Gloob Play platform will also include gamification initiatives and personal profiles for the kids, awarding them the more they used the app. The service will also enable children to create alerts to notify them before their favourite show starts.

Also available online through Gloob's site on Globosat Play, the platform will be releasing some content and games for no-subscribers during the first weeks after launching.
