Espial to demo OTT slate
| 04 August 2015
Espial has announced a series of fresh product demonstrations, including the Espial G4 STB Client, advanced content aggregation featuring a cloud-based app store, and an Orange TV implementation, whose over-the-top (OTT)-delivered user experience uses Espial client software.
The Immersive UX demo features the Espial G4 STB Client on advanced 4K and HEVC IPTV and QAM set-top boxes. It will showcase a full production user experience and user interface, as well as concept UX for core video use cases including EPG, VOD, search and many others. This transformative solution helps operators achieve their business and branding objectives with the freedom to innovate, an immersive UX and rapid service innovation.
The OTT content aggregation demo will present the latest OTT applications integrated into an advanced UX through app dashboards and an advanced app store. It will feature a wide range of OTT applications including news, games, music, social media, lifestyle and others, tuned for set-top boxes. Espial works with a raft of OTT video brands including Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Amazon, Pandora, and CinemaNow.
Espial will also demonstrate Orange's OTT service, Orange TV, which uses the Espial HTML5 user experience software. Launched in July in France, Orange is marketing the HDMI stick (called Cle TV, or the TV Key) based service to Orange mobile customers, providing access to over 65 channels of live and on-demand content. The demo will highlight how the Orange Cle TV enables subscribers to share and enjoy personal content on TV, as well as the tablet- and smartphone-based control.
