Switzerland’s largest cable operator UPC Cablecom has reported the strongest growth in Q2 2015 at its mobile service.
The offering launched in April 2014 increased its customer figure by 4,900 to 19,500 – a growth by 33.6%.
The number of internet customers rose by 15,900 to 755,700 and the number of telephony customers rose by 16,900 to 497,500, corresponding with a growth by 2.2% and 3.5% respectively.
At classic cable television, the strong competition from IPTV providers continues to show its effect: The subsidiary of US media company Liberty Global lost 17,300 TV customers in Q2 2015. With 1.3 million customers, however, cable TV remains the largest segment in UPC Cablecom’s portfolio.
