Marking its first official distribution agreement in Spain, beIN Sports, which is distributed by Mediapro in the country, has announced that it will broadcast through Vodafone TV.
The telco owns the country's No 2 pay-TV platform regarding number of subs after acquiring ONO last year.
Programmed by Mediapro and beIN Media Group, the network broadcasts high definition (HD) sports 24/7, including the best international football. The channel will deliver the entire UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europe League, in addition to England's Premier League, Italy's Serie A, France's Ligue 1 and Latin America's Copa Libertadores.
The channel will also deploy second-screen and social TV initiatives through beinsportsconnect.es and intends to launch a TV everywhere and streaming app in the country.
But even though Vodafone TV has been the first to pick up the new channel, Mediapro has confirmed that it is negotiating with other premium operators in order to make its content as widely available as possible.
