Telekom Romania’s combined TV subscriber total grew by 2.7% in the year to June 30.

As of the end of H1, the number of homes receiving DTH, IPTV or cable services supplied by the company, which is backed by the Greek incumbent OTE and ultimately Deutsche Telekom, stood at 1,420,828, up from 1,384,100 in the same period in 2014.

On the other hand, its fixed broadband subscriber total fell by 3% over the same period to 1,207,689.

Telekom Romania’s revenues amounted to €299.2 million, down 2.3% on the same period in 2014. Its pro forma EBITDA fell by 29.4% to €58.9 million, while an operating loss of €10 million contrasted with a profit of €6.5 million in H1 2014.

Meanwhile in Greece, OTE’s TV (IPTV and satellite) subscriber total at the end of H1 stood at 377,548, a 27.6% increase on the same period in 2014.

Overall, OTE had revenues of €1,894.3 million in H1 2015, down 1% on the same period last year. Pro forma EBITDA was down by 5.2% to €644.4 million over the same period, while adjusted net income fell by 2.1% to €100.9 million.

In its full year 2015 outlook, the company says that, assuming positive microeconomic developments, the stabilization of its Greek fixed and mobile operations to continue, while international operations will remain under intense competitive pressure.
