Football's return nets Antena 3 6.5MN viewers

Premiering its new programming slot for international football, Champions Total, Atresmedia's free-to-air channel Antena 3 scored an average 3.9 million viewers and picked up 6.5 million with the Europe Super Cup final between FC Barcelona and Seville.

The football game was the most watched programme, reaching an average audience share of 33.7%, a rate which grew to 42.9% in the 13-24 audience segment.

Once the 90-minute game was over with a 4-4 draw, extra time draw even more viewers, as the match became a trending topic and was being mentioned on many social networks. The overtime saw a 39.5% share and an average of 5.67 million viewers, with a golden minute of over 6.6 million and a 44.7% share, coinciding with Pedro's goal which gave the cup to Barcelona.

The match was the launch game for the Champions Total slot, which, including pre- and post-game analysis, shows gathered 3.7 million viewers and a 32% share.

With these figures, Antena 3 was Spain's most watched channel on Tuesday, averaging a 18.6% share, five percentage points more than its immediate competitor, Mediaset's Telecinco.
