FOX's National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) has announced the extension of Nat Geo People's distribution in Central and Eastern Europe with launches in Romania on 1 September and Poland on 1 October.
The newest NGCI brand offers unfiltered access to inspiring stories of real people all over the world. The channel will be picked up as linear and non-linear versions through Telekom in Romania along with National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild, and through Cyfrowy, Poldat and nc+ in Poland along with National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Wild and FOX.
Since the launches in other European markets including Denmark, Germany, Italy, and Turkey, Nat Geo People has established itself as an integral part of the Nat Geo family.
"We are delighted to add Nat Geo People to our channels' portfolio in Romania and Poland. After the successful experience in other European countries, Nat Geo People will arrive to these markets as a new approach to factual content, and also as a natural extension of the National Geographic brand focused on true experiences of real people," said Carlos Ortega, executive VP, FOX International Channels, Central and Eastern Europe.
Among its programming, Nat Geo People will bring to Romania and Poland the stories of Italian chef David Rocco through its series David Rocco's Dolce Vita, the series 4 Babies a Second – an original production about childbirth, and Ladyboys, a series focused on the connection between British expats and their ladyboy lovers in Thailand.
