MobiTV teams with Vidora for personalised mobile video
| 26 August 2015
Long-time mobile video provider MobiTV has partnered with artificial intelligence (AI) company Vidora to offer what it claims are the most personalised and engaging mobile video services.
MobiTV believes that with so many content choices at the tips of consumers' fingertips, it's more important than ever to provide tailored content discovery experiences.
To address this issue, the two companies are using proprietary, predictive AI algorithms that are based on behavioural content and user data to deliver automatically what is claimed to be a more personalised viewing experience. Behavioural information such as clicks, duration of plays, taps, scrolls, and previously viewed events on a user's mobile device are used in conjunction with content metadata to build a unique profile for every user. Each profile continuously adapts in real time to provide the best content and layout across devices to increase consumer engagement and lifetime value.
"We are moving to a world where increasing amounts of video content are consumed on smaller screens," said Alex Holub, CEO of Vidora. "Every pixel counts on these screens, making advanced personalisation technology even more important.
"Our next-generation over-the-top video service is focused on presenting the right content at the right time," said MobiTV vice president of product Fidel Zawde. "By the end of the year we expect more than 75,000 on-demand and linear TV programmes to be discoverable within our service, so personalisation is critical. Vidora's technology ensures our customers are maximising the value of their digital assets and making each interaction with their end users a powerful one."
Over the next few months, the two companies say that they will expand their partnership and offer more sophisticated personalisation technology to keep users engaged and coming back to an 'expansive' library of content and videos.
