CTC Media has launched what is the first channel-wide second screen app in both Russia and Europe.
One of the first such products anywhere in the world, CTC. Second Screen uses sound to sync a mobile device with a TV, offering the viewers of CTC Channel an opportunity to follow shows simultaneously on two screens. It will cover all CTC Channel programming throughout the 2015-2016 season.
The new app will also serve as an “air satellite”, offering CTC Channel viewers unique extra content and an opportunity to communicate in real time, to subscribe for updates and to purchase a variety of products.
Commenting on the launch, Yuliana Slashcheva, CEO of CTC Media, said, “We stay put on our strategy to transform CTC Media from a traditional broadcaster into a content holding distributing all our products across all media and platforms where we have our viewers. As a part of this process, we launched Russia’s first mobile satellite app to support the whole programming schedule of our flagship channel in the upcoming season. This launch was the final step to establish CTC Media as a clear technology leader of the market.
