Following Ibiza's refusal to host the reality show's latest edition, Viacom has officially announced the new format of the Shore franchise for MTV, which is to be named Super Shore.
supershoreThe media group has also announced the cast, which includes veterans of the popular Gandia Shore and Acapulco Shore, as well as newcomer, Italian motor car heiress Elettra Miura Lamborghini. As anticipated last week, the show will start on the Greek island of Mykonos.
Representing Spain, Gandia Shore veterans Arantxa, Abraham and Esteban have returned for what has been announced as "the most ambitious Shore yet". Coming all the way from Mexico, Acapulco Shore cast members Caballero, Fernando, Karime and Mane have also joined the southern European reality show.
A collaboration between MTV teams across southern Europe and Latin America, MTV Super Shore will be produced by Magnolia TV.
Although Viacom said no more than "the production was relocated from Ibiza", MTV was in fact ready to shoot the show on the Spanish island, but a strong campaign across social media against Ibiza Shore made the show run aground.
