Ready to expand BBC Earth's worldwide distribution with a major launch in Latin America, BBC Worldwide is to produce two new original series to premiere on the network.

The series Fishing Impossible and the What Planet Are You On (working title) will be part of the programming block Earth Unplugged, together with the show Extreme Weather.

Fishing Impossible is being co-produced with BBC's UK partners ITV and ITV4, while Extreme Weather is being filmed in partnership with Channel 5.

"Our selection of new production shows the kind of open content we are looking for to include in Earth Unplugged," said Julie Swanston, commission VP for BBC Worldwide channels. "Adventure, extraordinary characters and a new look aim to complement the best natural history productions in the world."

Already being broadcast in the Nordics, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovenia and Turkey, BBC Earth will launch across Latin America and South Africa tomorrow, 1 September, and across Asia in October.
