Atresmedia's child-oriented, free-to-air (FTA) content block, Neox kidz, has presented its first independent animation production, Mutant Busters, confirming its growing importance within the Spanish media group.

During the TV industry event FesTVal this week, Neox kidz also introduced a new programming brand targeting the youngest age groups, named Pekefest, of which Mutant Busters will be the cornerstone, together with How to Train Your Dragon.

Mutant Busters, to premiere in October, is part of a transmedia project - the series' main characters were launched as toys and action figures last year.

During early fall, the Atresmedia network will premiere The Thundermans, and in December the new kids series Rabbids and Sanjay & Craig will air. Neox kidz' new programming will also feature the latest season of Alvin and the Chipmunks.
