The French broadcasting group Canal+ is renaming its three free-to-air channels D8, D17 and iTélé.

The three channels, that are broadcast over the nations’ digital terrestrial network TNT, will be known as C8 C17 and CNews.

The broadcaster’s new chairman Vincent Bolloré said he will invest in programming, but at the same time the open windows on the main Canal+ channel will be reduced in order to give the subscribers more value for money.

A date for the new names to come into effect will be announced at a later moment.
