Orange Spain is to offer beIN Sports subscription for free to those paying for the IPTV service until the end of the week, thus adding Champions League programming to its offer.
Between 14-20 September, Orange TV's €9.95 football pack will include beIN Sports, the only channel offering all Champions League content in Spain, without charging the extra €5 per month required for regular beIN subscriptions.
Through the Al Jazeera network, subscribers will have access to the Champions League – which for the first time includes five Spanish teams, namely FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla and Valencia - the UEFA Europe League, the UK's Premier League, Italy's Serie A and the cups from Germany, France, the Netherlands and Brazil, among other tournaments.
Following a deal with the La Liga right's owner Telefónica Orange TV also includes all games from La Liga and the Copa del Rey in the football package.
The move indicates once more that pay-TV and sports are becoming the cornerstone of Spain's newly-launched convergent offers.
