Australian pay-TV channel FOX8 is set to air DC Comics' Supergirl and action series Legends of Tomorrow following a deal between parent Foxtel and Warner Bros International Television.

Supergirl, which follows the exploits of Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El (played by Melissa Benoist), will make its Australian debut on 6 December.

Legends of Tomorrow, a spin-off of Arrow and The Flash and featuring time-travelling crook Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), will debut on pay-TV channel Fox8 in early 2016.

Foxtel, a 50/50 joint venture between Telstra and News Corp, will also bring its subscribers season two of The Flash from 7 October, and season four of Arrow from 8 October
