Monami Entertainment has hired veteran television producer Dorothy Toran to the newly created position of vice president of production.

Toran will oversee production for forthcoming television projects. She will be based in the New York office of Monami Entertainment and will report to company CEO Mona Scott-Young.

"As we continue our focus on creating great unscripted fare, expanding our slate to include other formats and venture into physical production, Dorothy brings a wealth of experience and understands how to work strategically to maximise efficiency that will help take Monami Entertainment to the next level," said Scott-Young.

During her tenure, Toran has worked on hundreds of hours of programming for network series, music specials, music videos, commercials and digital programming. She has produced for companies and networks including Bravo, Discovery, TV One, MTV, Essence Communications and Sirens Media. Prior to that, Toran served as executive in charge of production at True Entertainment.
