Mum Detective gets second season on NBC in the US

Becoming the first adaptation of a Spanish series to run for two seasons in the US, The Mysteries of Laura is once again to air on NBC's prime time.

mysteriesIn May the network announced it was renewing the adaptation of the Boomerang TV series starring Debra Messing for a second season, with a guaranteed minimum production of 13 episodes and the possibility of extending it to 22.

In its first season, The Mysteries of Laura (Mum Detective) became one the most watched premieres on any major US network with 10.19 million viewers and a 2% rating.

The first season continued to draw solid ratings and averages throughout its 22 episodes with 7.54 million viewers and a 1.3 rating.

The original TVE series has been sold to free-to-air (FTA) and pay-TV networks across Latin America, in countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and the Dominican Republic.

Last summer, Boomerang TV also announced the premiere of a new adaptation for Russia's Channel One.
