Ten Golf will launch in high definition (HD) in India on 7 October, replacing the current standard definition (SD) channel from the Ten Sports Network.

"Watching the best golfers play their trade on the lush greens of the best golf courses in the world in high definition is a different viewing experience altogether," said Rajesh Sethi, CEO, Ten Sports.

"We have been receiving increased demand for Ten Golf in HD and we are happy to give our audiences what they desire through Ten Golf HD. We have a bouquet of the best golf content and we are confident of the acceptance and uptake of the channel," he added.

Ten Golf HD will offer content from major international events such as the Ryder Cup and PGA Championship, as well as leading International Tours including the European Tour and the Asian Tour.

The pay-TV channel will also cover the domestic Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), and the women's golf tournament LPGA.

Daily programming includes shows from Golf Channel USA and Golfing World which aim to help educate viewers about the sport.
