Discovery to launch Kids Play across LATAM

Discovery has announced that its TV everywhere platform Kids Play will launch across Latin America before the end of the year.
Targeting children from pre-school age to eight years old, the platform will available for all types of connected screens via a browser and is expected to launch apps for Android and iOS mobile devices. The TV everywhere service will be available for pay-TV subs paying for Discovery packages through their TV operators.
According to Fernando Medin, general manager, Brazil and Southern Cone, Discovery was an early entrant in Latin America, which has some of the fastest growing pay-TV markets in the world, and has an established leadership position with leading genre categories.
Medin highlighted Brazil, where Discovery has a portfolio of 11 channels and is very well positioned, and where Discovery Kids is both the No 1 channel for kids and the No 1 pay-TV network overall.
Its latest TV everywhere strategy for its youngest audience segment, announced together with Discovery Communications' long-term financial guidance, aims to increase market share and meet the demands of audiences in Latin America.
