AT&T, DirecTV renew carriage agreement with Viacom

AT&T has re-upped its distribution agreement with Viacom including for DirecTV.

The telco will continue providing Viacom's media networks, including VH1, MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central, to both the U-verse TV and DirecTV's national subscriber bases. Terms were not disclosed.

"AT&T and Viacom have signed a long-term multi-platform distribution agreement, continuing their long-standing relationship," the company said. "In recognition of AT&T's status as the largest pay-TV provider in the world, this agreement entitles AT&T's satellite and IPTV platforms to the best deal in the industry for Viacom's leading portfolio of television brands."

AT&T continues to make strides on integrating DirecTV's business into its operations. For instance, days after the completion of the mega-merger between the comms giant and the satellite operator, it announced that DirecTV Advertising Sales will now be a part of the AT&T AdWorks family.
