Boomerang flies The Avatars to Germany, Italy

German children's channel KIKA and Italy's public channel Rai Gulp have acquired the broadcasting rights to Boomerang TV's fictional series The Avatars.

theavatarsThe series, co-produced by Boomerang TV Group, Fly Distribuzione TV and Brave Films, will soon launch free-to-air (FTA) in Germany on KIKA, which belongs to the ARD regional network and public broadcaster ZDF.

The Avatars had its world premiere on Disney Italy and was also sold to Chello Central Europe, airing in Hungary, Romania, Moldavia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The series will also be broadcast shortly on Rai Gulp Italia, and deals with other key territories are currently being negotiated.

The Avatars is targeted at the international market and was shot entirely in English. The cast is led by Tyler Young and includes Gabi Carruba, from American Idol, Kirk Bonacci, India Coombs and Malcom Xavier. During the second series of the production, popular actress and singer Lucía Gil (La Gira, Violetta) also joined the cast.
